TECHNIQUES TO SUPPORT YOUR PERSONAL RESOLUTION

"New Year's Resolutions" do not have to be a drudgery or even an exercise to guilt induction. Rather, consider resolutions as a simple and positive opportunity to create a list of priorities. Specifically, your list should focus on your goals that are based from a positive place to implement realistic methods to make that brass ring a truly obtainable goal:

• Identify milestones that will help you reach your ultimate goal.

• Identify your strengths and weaknesses. Recognizing your behavior patterns will allow you to improve overall performance and productivity.

• Develop a checklist to help you accomplish one task at a time. This will help you gain additional control over your goals.

• Keep a journal to write down the positive steps you have taken toward your objectives.

• Be fearless: identify what must change in your lifestyle, attitudes or belief systems.

• Consider alternative perspectives that may help you overcome perceived obstacles.

• Follow through with your goals even when you feel discouraged. It takes effort and
commitment to fulfill your desires.

• Create a support network that will provide encouragement.

• Seek help when you need it. Therapy can ease common sources of stress, including family problems, heavy workloads, and feelings of depression. To locate a mental health professional, visit www.TherapistFinder.com.
